VICE CITY OPEN COMP RULES
Welcome to the Vice City Boulder Open!
Please read the following rules carefully to ensure a fair and enjoyable competition for all participants.
Scoring System
•Each boulder problem has an assigned point value.
•For every unsuccessful attempt, 10 points will be deducted from the problem’s total value.
•Your final score will be the sum of the points from your top 5 highest-scoring boulders.
Competition Format
•The top 3 competitors in the Beginner and Intermediate divisions will be announced by 6:30 PM.
•The top 6 men and top 6 women in the Open division will qualify for the finals.
•In the event of a tie, the ranking will be determined by the number of attempts taken.
Additional Guidelines
•Honesty and sportsmanship are expected from all competitors. Any form of unsportsmanlike behavior may result in disqualification.
•Competitors must follow the designated start and finish holds for each boulder problem.
•If a competitor is unsure about the rules or a specific climb, they should ask a competition official for clarification.
•All final decisions rest with the judges and event organizers.
Most importantly, have fun, climb hard, and enjoy the competition!
Finalist Requirements
- Finalists will be kept in the isolation zone during the finals, they may not see anyone attempt the boulders until their turn
- Open finalists must be present by 6:30 to go into isolation
- Finalists will have 2 minutes to read each boulder before climbing begins
- Finalists will have 4 minutes to attempt each boulder
